Raphael Mannequinn "Active Duty"

"There is a little bit of mannequin in all of us. We transform on a daily basis, as they do. The only difference between us is while they are made to seem alive... We get to actuallylive." Self quoted and the driving force behind Urban/Pop artist Raphael Mannequinn's vision. Raphael Bradshaw (otherwise known as 'Mannequinn') is born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. An eighteen year old, Singer/songwriter/producer.

Citing inspiration from Prince, Grace Jones, Brandy, Outkast, & Timbaland just to name a few, Raphael describes his sound as the "Popular Experiment". A mixing bowl of hard hitting beats, fun filled melodies, catchy lyrics and some experimental flavoring. Otherwise, An urban sounds with pop/r&b influences.

Hot off the heels of his debut buzz single "Queen" (featuring DMV Native/Chicago Rapper "SneakerVixen"), Raphael Mannequin digitally released the "Canvas Music Mixtape" (April 26th 2010). A project focusing on the trials & tribulation of relationships with stories of love & lust; some sexual undertones. The majority of the album was produced by Mannequinn, besides one co-written song and a remixed track of Verse Simmonds' "Buy You A Round". In promotion of the 'Canvas Music Mixtape', a viral video titled "Dancing on Your Heartbeat: The Canvas Music Short Film" will be released in the summer 2010, followed by an official video for "Queen" & a spring 2011 promo tour is also in the works.

"I thought I was in love, but, I figured out that I just had time to kill..." a lyric from "Crash (Dummy)" off of the 'Canvas Music Mixtape' and the sole reason Raphael Mannequinn wanted to tell this story of love, through personal heartbreak. Love is not the only subject inside this young man's head though. The 'Canvas Music Mixtape' is only the beginning of what appears to be a promising opportunity in the music industry for this budding singer/songwriter. Follow his excursion and be apart of the movement, The 'Mannequinn' Movement, that is...
