I can't seem to find much info on this song, but from personal knowledge I do know this is a cover of the 80's classic hit "Africa" by Toto. This is an interesting choice for a remake, and I love the original, but unfortunately I feel that Avant came up short on this attempt.
I agree. Odd choice for a cover for him. A local artist from here(Toronto)recently did a cover of it too(Karl Wolf) Wasn't a big fan. Oddly, while listening to Avant's version I randomly thought Brandy would probably make a good version....thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, it's just hard for me to visualize Brandy since I've never heard a female singing it. What makes it also hard to visualize is, it's not even an r&b song, it's more pop/rock. Brandy is very talented though, I think she would do a very good job with it.
