I'm not sure if this song was written as a tribute to Aaliyah, in fact I'm pretty sure it wasn't since it released before she passed, but it can't help but feel like one. Not only did the video come out shortly after her passing, but you can clearly see the Aaliyah imagery in the video. R.I.P. Babygirl.

The song was written before Aaliyah's passing, but after her death Missy Elliott realised that it match perfectly as a tribute to a friend and decided to dedicate it for Aaliyah.
